The free consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any questions you may have. This helps us determine if we’re a good fit and how I can best support you.
Therapy can be a valuable resource when life feels overwhelming, when you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of what you need. It provides a supportive space to slow down, sort through your thoughts, and make sense of your experiences. You don’t have to wait for a crisis—therapy can help with navigating stress, big transitions, or simply gaining clarity and support. If you’re curious about personal growth, seeking help with emotional or mental health challenges, or just need a space to process life’s complexities, therapy might be the right choice for you. It meets you where you are and helps you move forward.
In a typical therapy session, we’ll begin by building rapport and creating a safe, supportive environment where you feel comfortable. Our first session serves as a general assessment to explore different aspects of your life, including your current concerns, the quality of your relationships—both now and in the past—and any patterns that may be keeping you stuck. For couples counseling, we’ll focus on understanding the dynamics of your relationship. Sessions are tailored to your needs and may include discussing your thoughts and feelings, developing coping strategies, setting goals, and working through challenges. My approach is collaborative, and I aim to foster trust as we work together.
The frequency of therapy sessions varies based on your unique needs and goals. Some individuals benefit from weekly sessions, while others may find bi-weekly or monthly sessions more suitable. We’ll work together during our initial consultation to determine the best plan for you.
As for confidentiality, it is a fundamental part of therapy. What you share in sessions remains private, with a few legal exceptions, such as situations involving imminent harm to yourself or others. These exceptions will be thoroughly reviewed during our first consultation to ensure you feel informed and secure.
Before your first session, think about what you’d like to achieve through therapy and any specific issues you want to address. It can be helpful to jot down some notes or questions. Arrive with an open mind and be ready to discuss your concerns honestly.
Generally 53-60 minutes.
I draw from evidence based practices including EFT, ACT, CBT, Gottman-informed techniques, self-compassion work, values work, and mindfulness.
Your appointment time is reserved for you, and it’s important that we each respect one another’s time. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, including no-shows, will be charged the full cost of the session.
Our practice operates on a private pay model, giving us the ability to offer greater flexibility and uphold strict confidentiality for our clients. This approach ensures that your treatment decisions remain solely between you and your therapist, free from the constraints of insurance requirements. For those pursuing out-of-network reimbursement, we’re happy to provide superbills upon request. Additionally, I accept HSA/FSA payments.
